DISTURBING: 26 FBI informants coordinated on January 6 to setup and incarcerate Americans who were frustrated with election fraud
The
FBI’s use of informants at the January 6, 2021 rally has been exposed by the DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, revealing the extent of the corruption and political persecution that took place that day. According to Horowitz’s report, 26 FBI “confidential human sources” (CHSs) were present during the Capitol breach, with multiple informants entering the Capitol and the restricted grounds. This exposé shines a light on the biased prosecution and selective persecution of individuals associated with that fateful day, echoing the dark tactics of Soviet-era political purges.
FBI informants fomented violence, not prevented it
The Inspector General’s report, though meant to address the FBI’s preparedness for the January 6 events, inadvertently unveiled a deeply concerning practice:
the FBI’s deployment of informants to foment unrest. Four informants breached the Capitol itself, and 13 entered restricted grounds without authorization. What’s worse, the FBI did not seek to charge or prosecute these informants despite their blatant disregard for law and order. Instead, these informants played a key role in facilitating and encouraging violence, their presence providing cover for more egregious crimes.
The fact that the FBI knowingly sent informants into the volatile environment, and subsequently did not hold them accountable, raises serious questions about the bureau’s priorities and the selective justice system it operates under. The presence of FBI informants at the Capitol on January 6 was not about preventing violence or maintaining order; it was about gathering information that would later be used to persecute and imprison individuals deemed enemies of the political elite.
A modern-day witch hunt perpetuated by the January 6 Committee
The January 6 Committee, led by Liz Cheney, has become a vehicle for politically motivated persecution. This committee, which has been widely criticized for its biased approach, has imprisoned innocent individuals while ignoring exonerating evidence. Among the many incidents of selective prosecution, the committee’s deliberate omission of a crucial transcript that detailed then-President Trump’s requests for National Guard troops to protect the Capitol stands out.
According to Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato, who testified on January 28, 2022, then-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows had spoken with D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser about Trump’s request for 10,000 troops. This testimony directly contradicts the committee’s baseless claims that there was no evidence to support Trump’s account. Yet, the committee opted to suppress this critical information, perpetuating a narrative of
dishonesty and bias.
Liz Cheney’s role in this modern-day witch hunt cannot be overstated. As one of only two Republicans on the committee, Cheney has relentlessly pursued a vendetta against President Trump and his supporters, often under questionable and politically motivated circumstances. Her aggressive approach to prosecution, facilitated by the FBI’s misuse of informants and the committee’s penchant for selective justice, is deeply troubling.
The targeting of individuals and the deliberate cover-up of exonerating evidence are reminiscent of the Soviet-era purges, where political dissidents were sent to gulags under false pretenses. The January 6 Committee’s actions have led to the wrongful arrest and incarceration of innocent people, their lives and futures shattered by politically motivated prosecutions and convictions.
Holding the Perpetrators Accountable
The establishment of the January 6 Committee was sold to the American public as a vessel of democracy to uncover the truth and bring justice to those involved in the breach of the Capitol. However, it quickly became a vehicle for political vengeance and a cover-up of corruption at the highest levels of government. It is imperative that Americans pressure their newly elected representative to work toward transparency and accountability in this matter.
Those responsible for the biased prosecution, the suppression of exonerating evidence, and the corrupt use of FBI informants must be held accountable. The January 6 Committee’s role in perpetuating this witch hunt must be scrutinized, and any individual found to have contributed to the wrongful persecution of innocent individuals should face justice.
